Aidhmeanna Agus Fealsúnacht Na Gaelscoile | Aims And Philosophy Of The School

Anseo

Tá fealsúnacht an phobail a bhunaigh an Ghaelscoil le brath ar aidhmeanna Ghaelscoil Míde. Leagann an fhealsúnacht seo béim ar thradisiún ársa na hÉireann, ar a cultúr agus ar a dúchas, agus ar an Chríostaíocht, chomh maith lenár gcomhchultúr Eorpach agus a bhfuil ann den nuaíocht is fearr. “Dia agus Dúchas” atá mar mhana ag an Ghaelscoil, mana atá le feiceáil ar shuaitheantas na scoile, maraon le bís thriarach, gréasán atá chomh sean agus chomh Gaelach le Brú na Bóinne, ach fós atá ina shiombal Críostaíoch den Tríonóid Naofa.

Tá sé mar aidhm againn sa scoil seo timpeallacht a chruthú ina dtiocfaidh forbairt iomlán ar chumas agus ar acmhainní gach páiste, timpeallacht Ghaelach, Chríostaí, staidéartha, shlán, shona, shocair. Sa dóigh seo táimid ag súil go mbeidh tuiscint agus meas ag gach dalta air/uirthi féin agus ar chách, go gcomhlíonfaidh siad a gcuid dualgais i leith an phobail, agus go mbeidh fonn orthu a gcion féin a dhéanamh chun idéalacha na Gaelscoile a chur i gcrích.

The philosophy of our founders is reflected in the aims of Gaelscoil Míde. This philosophy lays heavy emphasis on our Irish tradition, on our culture and heritage, and on Christianity, and which embodies all that is best in our common European tradition. On the Gaelscoil crest, the motto “Dia agus Dúchas” (God and Heritage), surrounds a triple spiral, a pattern which is as old and as Irish as the tumulus at Newgrange, but a pattern which is also used as a symbol of the Blessed Trinity.

In the Gaelscoil, we try to create an atmosphere which will help every child to realise his/her full potential as a student and as a person, an atmosphere which is Gaelach and Christian, safe and happy, an atmosphere which is conducive to learning. In so doing, it is our sincere hope that our children will learn respect and understanding for themselves and for others, will be aware of their obligations towards themselves and others, and will do their best to embody the ideals of the Gaelscoil in their own lives.
